CalmaLink is a free, bilingual (EN/ES) mindfulness tool. It is not medical advice, not therapy, and not an emergency service. Use it as a gentle support for short breathing, grounding, and kindness practices.

1) Service & Eligibility
CalmaLink provides brief mindfulness content (breathing, grounding, kindness). It is not medical advice, diagnosis, therapy, or an emergency service. Use is limited to individuals 13 years and older. If you are under 13, please do not use CalmaLink.
2) Your Content & How We Use It
When you use the chat, the text you type is processed to generate a response. We may retain logs to operate, secure, and improve CalmaLink (for example, to detect abuse or to understand which practices are most used). We encourage you to avoid entering names, phone numbers, addresses, or other identifiers.
3) De‑identified Summaries
We may publish de‑identified engagement summaries (for example: number of sessions, average length, language mix). These summaries do not include personal identifiers.
4) Safety & Emergencies
CalmaLink cannot monitor or respond to emergencies. If you are in danger or considering harming yourself or others, call 911. In the U.S., dial or text 988 for the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline.
5) Data Sharing
We may use service providers to host the website and operate the chat. They process data on our behalf and under agreements that limit use to providing the service. We do not sell personal data or share it for targeted advertising.
6) Data Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect data. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.
7) Data Retention
We aim to keep data for only as long as needed to operate the service and comply with law. If you want us to delete chat content associated with your use, email grai@pnwu.edu with the date/time and details you can provide. We will review and, if feasible, delete or de‑identify related records.
8) Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your data, or to object to certain processing. Contact grai@pnwu.edu and we will respond as required by applicable law.
9) Children
CalmaLink is not for children under 13. If we learn that we have information from a child under 13, we will delete it.
10) Changes to These Terms
We may update this page to reflect changes in CalmaLink. We will post the new effective date at the top of this page.
